About this blog
One of my last in-house publishing jobs included editing blog posts. From that process, I learned that blogs are a great way to create mid-length evergreen content that blends the longer form content of academia and the short form of social media. You can also find social media forms of some of these blogs on my Instagram page: stages_of_pages.
I am now a Bookshop.org affiliate! This just means that if you use the links from this site to buy these books, I earn a commission on that sale. It does not mean that the books I read or my reviews are dictated by Bookshop.org in any way.
Legends & Lattes Review
Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree is one of the quintessential cozy fantasy books of the last 5 years. Baldree is a videogame designer and audiobook narrator who was inspired by COVID to write something escapist with themes of fantasy romance. Book Review Confessions

Patricia Wants to Cuddle: Book Review
It’s October, which means it’s time to highlight horror/thrillers! Reality TV dating show. Bigfoot. Lesbians.

In undergrad, the professor of the […]

Publishing in “The West”
The panel I was most excited for and the only one I reserved tickets for at the 2024 Los Angeles Festival of Books was a panel entitled California State of Mind: Publishing in the West. As a current Portlander, I was mildly surprised that they were not considering publishing in other states considered “The West” such as Washington and Oregon or Arizona and Nevada; […]
A Reflection on LAT FOB
This past weekend I attended the Festival of Books in Los Angeles. I have always had a soft spot for this festival as I first attended it as a high schooler desperate to be an author and then a school journalist aiming to be as objective and informative. This year, however, marks my first time […]
